UNS Repurpose
This is a submission to Godot Wild Jam #89
A physics-driven space hauling simulation. Ship mass, cargo weight, fuel, and thrust all matter. Heavier loads affect acceleration and handling, forcing real tradeoffs between cargo capacity, upgrades, and piloting skill in zero gravity.
Please read the entire game page, as there is no in-game tutorial. Thanks!

Rotate: Q/E
Strafe: A/D
Accel/Decel: W/S
Salvaging Laser: Space
Upgrades/Refuel: Dock (see below)

Salvaging Wrecks provides the player scrap metal Scrap metal,
which is a currency to trade in for upgrades, and repairs that your spaceship needs. The only resource in the game.
...Scrapyard, upgrades, scrap parts.

Dock your ship to open the upgrade menu, refuel, or unload cargo.

Where's my station?
The compass in the bottom right is the perfect tool for your adventure. It highlights nearby debris in red, wrecks in green, and shows you where to go to get back home.

Story
A space game where humans have split into 2 factions; one living on earth and one terraformed mars and lives there. They had a war going on for a thousand years or so which peaked in a massive final battle with an insane amount of ships and they almost wiped out humanity during that final battle. No one won, now earth is destroyed, mars is destroyed, all that's left is a couple thousand humans and and absurd amount of debris and ship wrecks floating around in space from this final battle. Your task is to salvage those wrecks to repurpose and recycle to build up humanity again type scenario.

I STILL do not understand how to dock with the space station.
I STILL can not refuel, to continue the game :(
I understand your frustration Sensino, sorry about the unfinished features.
We have an update coming out in at most 2 days which will allow you to dock, upgrade, refuel, and find the station if you get lost.
Thank you for your dedication and interest in our project!
Hey Sensino!
Happy to let you know that UNS Repurpose is now fully playable!
Please check out the game page again to understand docking and more as we do not have an in-game tutorial.
Thank you, and please let us know what you think!
Maybe some micro-gravity fields around (some?) asteroids could spice up the game a bit?
Maybe you could land on an asteroid and mine it manually?
Great idea! I actually am going to add an update to the game with some new asteroid mechanics that you will surely enjoy...
I LOVE the movement system, you can make so much more complex moves, than compared to mouse controls or WASD controls.
I would appreciate a larger fuel tank, so I can go on really long missions (yes, you can glide & go almost infinite, but fine controls require more fuel), but an upgrade system can easily solve this.
I like the calmness of not having to shoot hostile aliens all the time, like almost all other space games.
Thank you very much. Programming the movement system was one of my tasks, so I appreciate your feedback on it very much. I took heavy inspiration from Steam: Delta V - Rings of Saturn.
How do I dock with the space station?
(add that to the game description)
I tried landing on the + mark, but just "bonked" into the station.
I also tried docking in the underside port on the left side of the station, but again just "bonked" it, even though I lined it up.
Hey there Sensino, I'm very sorry about your experience and the late response. Project lead seems absence atm.
I updated this projects description to avoid potential others having a similar experience.
Greetings McCyberroy
I couldn't figure out how to dock back with the space station
Thank you for your interest!
We have updated the game to fix all issues and add docking. Please read the game page for more info.
